Coaching questions:

How do you handle personal life challenges?

What lessons have your learned when you let others help?

How do you personally get through difficult situations with dignity and grace?

How have challenges helped you grow?

How do you help others with care and compassion when they are facing challenges?

How do you access leadership at home and at work?

We are creating Excellence when we stand in Leadership through personal challenges!

I wish I could do it all but I can’t. I’ve tried but you know what happens when we try to do that!

Not being able to do it all has the potential for great gifts. We have to reach out to others, we gain patience and strength, we become more compassionate beings and we grow appreciative intelligence as we get through them and realize how very challenging circumstances turned out all right in the end. We can look back with gratitude and appreciation to all those who made that possible in large and small ways.

As you may have noticed, it has been a little more than a year since I have sent out my newsletters. The good news (for those who enjoy them) is that they are back! I have enjoyed a wonderful year of challenges, changes and celebrations. The challenges took place mostly in my personal life. A husband changing jobs that made him much less available to the family (his turn to be supported, he has been there for me every step of the way, I can only do the same for him). A very sick son that I am happy to announce is fully recovered (it’s so great to have him back) and a father who’s Alzheimer’s took a huge turn for the worse is happily in the right place to be cared for now. Funny how life will send these things in “spurts” and often “all at once”.  With the changes and challenges life also offered opportunities. I was privileged to create 16 spots for television (some of you may have seen them on East Link on Thursdays; they are also being posted on our website). Huge and wonderful changes have been made to the website and are almost finished (please check them out at www.taoe.ca and let us know what you think; it would mean so much to us to get your feedback. A year filled with Coach Approach Training. We had to add two public sessions and many workplace specific sessions to accommodate the demand, we are very grateful for the opportunity to share this powerful work with all of you! All in all, a life altering year in so many ways! With a great team of friends, family, colleagues, my personal coach and my amazing team at work I was able to step up, make it a great year and stay clear and intact through it all.

Life cycles, challenging and inspiring, bring us together and remind us of what is possible when we pull together, prioritize, let ourselves be human and still bring our best selves to everyday (whatever that looks like for us).  It calls us to pull on the deepest parts of ourselves to make it through with dignity and grace, to face what we are unable to do and celebrate what we can.

When we stand in leadership we access the courage to do what is right and make the tough decisions with faith that it will out work out for the best. We remain in integrity by practicing what we teach and/or expect of others. We use patience by accepting that we cannot do it all and honour others by reaching out to them and allowing them to take the lead, step up to the plate and develop their own skills! We can also find ourselves stronger, more resilient and better for the experience!
